Chat2Fit is committed to protecting users who may be navigating
eating disorders or disordered eating patterns. This page outlines
how we design for safety, resources that may help, and steps to take
when additional support is needed.
1. Immediate Help
If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis
helpline right away. In the United States call or text 988. In
the UK & ROI contact Samaritans at 116 123. In Canada reach
out to Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566. If your country is
not listed, consult local health authorities for urgent support.
2. When to Seek Professional Care
Persistent thoughts about food, weight, or body image, anxiety
around meals, rapid weight change, purging, restriction, or
compulsive exercise can signal the need for clinical care. A
licensed physician, therapist, or dietitian specializing in
eating disorders can provide comprehensive evaluation and
treatment plans personalized to your needs.
3. How Chat2Fit Responds
Our coaching engine includes safeguards that reduce triggering
language, escalates supportive tone, and surfaces crisis
resources when disordered eating risks are detected. Coaches do
not deliver diagnoses. They aim to encourage self-care,
hydration, rest, and reaching out to professionals or trusted
people.
4. Self-Care Suggestions
Small grounding actions—breathing exercises, gentle movement,
supportive affirmations, or connecting with a friend—can help
interrupt difficult cycles. Prioritize hydration, balanced meals
when possible, and restful sleep. These steps do not replace
therapy but can keep you steady while you seek help.
5. Supporting Someone Else
If a loved one is struggling, approach with empathy. Avoid
comments on weight or appearance and focus on feelings and
behaviors. Encourage professional care, offer to accompany them,
and share crisis resources. Chat2Fit should not be used instead
of specialized treatment.
6. Additional Resources
Consider organizations such as the National Eating Disorders
Association (nationaleatingdisorders.org), Beat Eating Disorders
(beateatingdisorders.org.uk), and the Butterfly Foundation
(butterfly.org.au). These groups provide helplines, recovery
programs, and educational materials worldwide.
7. Privacy & Safety Controls
You can adjust notification quiet hours, panic cooldowns, and
language filters within Chat2Fit. If any message feels unsafe or
you need stricter guardrails, contact support so we can review
and tighten protections on your account.
8. Contact Us
We want every user to feel safe. Email hello@chat2fit.com with
questions, safety concerns, or feedback so we can help connect
you to appropriate resources and continue improving our support.
